Website Control Checklist

Tick each item only if the business can complete it without relying on one outside person.

1. I can sign in to the domain registrar.
2. I control the registrar recovery email and phone.
3. I know where DNS is managed.
4. I can sign in to the hosting, cloud or deployment account.
5. I have my own website administrator account.
6. I know where the source, export or usable copy lives.
7. I have a recent complete backup that I control.
8. I know the date of the last successful backup.
9. My forms, analytics, email and payment integrations are documented.
10. The business controls billing and renewal methods.
11. Collaborators have separate accounts, not one shared password.
12. A replacement professional could identify the main systems from a one-page handover note.

Red flag

If the answer to "Who can recover this account?" is only one developer, agency or former employee, the business does not yet have full control.
